How to Deal With a Funnel -Web Spider Bite
Research shows that male funnel web spiders are more poisonous than
the females. It is best to avoid and maintain distance with this species
of spiders. They are extremely hostile and equally dangerous, regardless
of their size and class. The poison that they inject into the body of
its victim is highly venomous and starts its action within moments of
the bite.

Funnel Web Spider Anti
Venom The Funnel-web spiders are mostly found in areas near the south-eastern
part of Australia and Sydney. They are even found in United States but
more popular as exotic pets.
These spiders’ bite contains atraxtoxin, a dangerous and powerful form
of neurotoxin, which when injected into the body, burns down the tissues
and ligaments of that portion and even causes muscle twitch and numbness
while entering into the blood vessels. In a serious situation, the
patient can suffer from cerebral, a damaged limb, edema coma, shock and
even death in case of small children. Do not forget to tie a strap
tightly around the bite area to prevent the poison from getting the
chance to circulate into the whole body.
Indications of the effect of the poison
Although they might appear, small but their bites are incredibly strong
and painful. Within 10 to 15 minutes of the bite, the indications are
clearly visible in the victim. The immediate indications of a Funnel-Web
Spider bite in humans is excessive sweating, difficulty in gulping down,
heavy eyelids, problem with proper sightings, problem in breathing,
stinging pain in the joints and muscles, mouth area and lips getting
numb. If left untreated for a few hours, the victim would experience
high blood pressure with extreme vomiting and rise in heart beat, nausea
and may even fall in coma.
Measures to be taken
If you want to survive, you must immediately apply some basic first aid
on the wound and tie a strap tightly around the bite to stop the venom
from spreading within the body. You should immediately contact the
nearest hospital for your treatment. If you are experimenting with
Funnel Web spiders or knowingly visiting Funnel Web Spider infested
areas then you should always carry the right anti venom and necessary
equipments to inject the anti venom.
The most important thing to do is to stop panicking and not to move the
bitten area. If you panic then your heart starts beating faster and
starts circulating more blood, which spreads the poison throughout your
body.
Also, please make a note of some vital information like the weight of
the patient, age, time of the bite, if possible identity of the spider
before you call for help.
